Fight for Kids is the official 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of The Bodyshop Fitness, Inc. Incorporated in December 2005, Fight for Kids strives to use athletics as the vehicle to teach at-risk youth the proper values and skills that will help them compete successfully as athletes, scholars, and citizens in today’s competitive world. Nationally, nearly two-thirds of school-age children are in homes where both parents work, but few communities have a comprehensive system that provides safe and structured learning environments before and after school for children. In 2006, one out of every 143 people in the city of Long Beach fell victim to violent crime. These numbers are unacceptable. Fight for Kids seeks to prevent future violence by working with youth early before they become engaged in serious delinquency. The Bodyshop Fitness, Inc. is the parent organization for Fight for Kids and offers a variety of classes designed for all family members in kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, kenpo karate, mixed martial arts, weight loss, weight lifting, extreme conditioning, pilates, and detoxification. The environment is one that is pleasant and fun for all family members. |
